Passion for horse riding

At Ecurybois, each plane stroke is guided by a love of wood and horse riding.

Our founder, a carpenter with a passion for horse riding, began by creating products to meet his own needs for storing and preserving his equipment. Quickly, his creations became references for his fellow riders.

Our history and our workshop

Wood, a noble and respectful material

All our products are made of wood. And it is not a hazard. We chose spruce to design our equipment for two reasons.

Untreated, its hygroscopic properties allow moisture to be absorbed from your material after use, thus protecting the leather from the dangers of mold.

Unlike metal, the ergonomics and solidity of our parts ensure that your equipment is not deformed, and thus avoids creating pressure points that could injure your horse.

    Ecurybois is a brand of Menuiserie La Petite Cognée, located in Alsace. All our products are exclusively created and manufactured there.

    Finely sanded, without stain or varnish. The hygroscopicity of spruce allows your equipment to dry naturally after work, without mold.

  • Shipping throughout Europe

    We ship throughout Europe directly to your home with La Poste Colissimo or Chronopost. Large orders (on estimate) are shipped by carrier.

Why wood? 🪓

Ecurybois rigorously selects wood from sustainably managed forests, in France and even Switzerland.

Ecurybois products are sold in a natural finish, simply sanded finely for a velvet finish.

Nothing better than this natural material for your saddle. Recyclable, sustainable, local, warm and aesthetic: it ticks all the boxes for material 2.0

Should I treat my saddle rack? 🖌️

If we want to keep the absorbent property of spruce (an asset for your riding equipment), we recommend not applying any treatment (stain or varnish).

If the saddle rack becomes stained, patinated or dirty, a simple sanding with fine abrasive paper is enough.

DIY: to personalize your wooden support, nothing could be simpler: a special wood stain of your choice and/or a finishing varnish, and presto your saddle holder is unique!

Are the saddle racks water resistant? 💦

Well no ! Spruce being chosen specifically for its hygroscopic properties (ability to absorb humidity), this is a significant advantage for the storage of your riding equipment, particularly leather.

In fact, instead of accumulating absorbed humidity, wood restores it naturally by drying without storing it in contact areas, thus avoiding the appearance of mold.

If necessary, applying a protective varnish blocks the hygroscopicity of the wood and your saddle rack becomes water resistant!
